Description Dawid Ciezarkiewicz 2007-01-31 13:36:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: I Don't Know

This is probably wish for another widget in kdelibs, not just wish for kmail.

Some time ago I was talking with my friends about usability. My friend told us about his sister problems with adding multiple attachments.

She often need to add multiple attachments (like most of us). And she always adds them one by one. Her brother have showed her many times how to select many files using Ctrl, but what we all admited - it's quite hard for typical user to do that. So she still adds them one by one.

We thought about solution and using list of files in current dir with checkboxes at the left side would be very intuitive and efficient. Everywhere in KDE where multiple files are expected to be selected such widget could be used instead of forcing user to know about magic-ctrl-click.

This is just a raw idea, but I thought it's worth reporting.

This would be resolved when we used Dolphin item views in the file dialog.
