I have configure konversation in the way, that a connection to freenode will be created on the startup time of the programm.

Unfortunately, the serverlist will be displayed without any buttons in this usage case, when I start the application.

You're using Beryl or compiz, presumably?

While I never got any reply back from the reporter, it's extremely likely that this is the Beryl/Compiz server list dialog hiding issue, since it fits the description and nothing similar was ever reported. It was fixed in SVN a long time ago. -> Closing.
