Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Longer messages are blocked by the ICQ server. The recipient always receives a message like "** This message was blocked by the ICQ server ** The message was too long."

The thing is, that other client don't have this problem. A few days ago I was trying to chat with a friend using the gpg plugin and every message was blocked (so a gpg encrypted message with only a "hello" is too long). Because of that we were trying things and we noticed that I can't send messages via ICQ, that he can send (using Miranda).

Another fried just said that he doesn't receive anything, not even the blocked-message.

I remember the days where I used icq2go. There was a limit of I think 400 characters per message. Jan told me that there is a hack to show users online that didn't authorize. Could that be a reason?

We don't support the use of the GPG plugin with ICQ because the encryption makes the message too long and we can't break the message apart either.

Then there should be a possibility to disable the plugin for icq or special protocols of meta contacts. At the moment I can only enable or disable it for the whole contact.

By the way this also happens with normal message that could be split into several messages. I don't know if this is true, but my guess is that miranda users have the most problems with longer messages... Nevertheless other clients then kopete seem to be able to write longer messages to miranda. So maybe kopete doesn't do a check for supported length ore something like that?
