I'm using KDE 3.5.2, under Kubuntu Dapper.

I've been facing a rather bothersome and complicated bug where Nedit doesn't work under KDE under certain conditions.  While researching this, I have seen fingers point at Lesstif, Mozilla, and Klipper.  Weighing all of the suggestions, the impression I get is that both Lesstif and Klipper are misbehaving.  The problem, apparently, doesn't occur with GNOME, and it doesn't occur with KDE if Nedit is linked against OpenMotif.  In any case, it appears that the KDE-related problem has to do with Klipper hogging the clipboard.  Here's a reference in the ubuntu bug database:

I have searched through the KDE bug repository, and I did find one bug that looked similar, but I think it may be unrelated.  Unfortunately, I can't tell what is the KDE version number of when that other bug was resolved.

I could reopen this and close as INVALID, but what's the point? The linked bugreport says it's a Lesstif problem and there's even a comment about it happening outside of KDE.
