Two rows of blue dots appear across the middle of the screen at level of of the progress bar.

For example which widget style, whether you're using third party 3D drivers (NVidia, ATI) or maybe it is a feature. Could you upload a screenshot here?

KD3 + no more information + can't reproduce = WORKSFORME :)
