Description RND 2007-01-12 17:09:52 UTC
Version: 1.0.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)
OS:                Linux

For some time now konversation will not start in my user account. It starts in root ok and all the other kde irc clients such as kvirc and ksirc work ok in my account.

Heres what I get:

If I load the program from kmenu I get a cryptic error message stating "download failed in someway".

If I load it in konsole in user mode I get:

QUOTE
rnd@linux-bkzx:~> konversation
rnd@linux-bkzx:~> QGDict::hashKeyString: Invalid null key
QGDict::hashKeyString: Invalid null key
konversation: ERROR: : couldn't create slave : Unable to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Unknown protocol ''.
konversation:
KCrash: Application 'konversation' crashing...

rnd@linux-bkzx:~>/QUOTE

This happens every time.

is this still occuring?

Closing due to insufficient information to reproduce or address the problem.

Note that error popups on Konversation start are usually caused by KAddressBook's library (which we use for integration with KAddressBook contacts) displaying its errors through the application that uses them (i.e., Konvi). Konversation itself does not use error dialog boxes. The most common cause for KAddressBook error dialogs are botched online/remote resources set up in KAddressBook.
