Description Tyler Cassidy 2007-01-04 06:12:38 UTC
Version: KDE 3.5.4 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

Ok, when you enable your 'Display Power Managment' option (Configure KDesktop -> Display -> Power Control) and than disable it, your kscreensaver fails to function any longer. This bug can be reproduced by following the instructions in the previous sentence. You can either fix this bug by re-enabling 'Display Power Managment' or removing the [DisplayEnergy] Category and all of its values in '~/kde/share/config/kcmdisplayrc' (on Fedora 6).

Sorry, the path is '~/.kde/share/config/kcmdisplayrc' as opposed to '~/kde/share/config/kcmdisplayrc'.

On a similar note, when I enable power management and set all times to their minimum value and go shopping for a while, then come back and disable power management, power managament will remain active.

Using kde 3.5.6 amd64 on Gentoo.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Kcontrol has been replaced by System Settings in Plasma. Please give the latest version of that a try, and open a new bug in "systemsettings" if you continue to have an issue. Thank you!
