Tags can be used to whatever you want. Yes, support for
keyboard navigation in Digikam is... hmm. ;) And this should be fixed.
Adding completely new system of tagging would be make Digikam more
bloated, cluttered, etc.
Fast assigning of tags could be done for example by making each tag
assignation a KAction - you could add direct shortcut for each tag
- a la rating.
Mik, This idea come from lightroom sotfware where a simple colorized flag (without text) can be apply to specific pictures during workflow pre-selection. Marcel, I cannot see any corresponding new field in KDE4 database schema about this subject. We don't have already talk about in the pass ? Gilles Caulier There is no real difference to a tag, is there? Certain tags could be handled differently by the UI. This would probably come with all the other tag-related wishes here in bko Yes Marcel, there is no difference with tags. Only GUI representation are different. There is a screenshot of Adobe Bridge (tm) icon view in action using color label : http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/OthersSoftware/Bridge/adobebridge-colorlabeltags.jpg Gilles Caulier Note that a longer discussion about color labels (which does sound like a good idea to me), has also taken place in http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152424 I stand corrected. Also FotoStation uses color labels. To Arnd #5 : another dispatched/duplicate whish (:=))) To Mik #6 : yes Color Tag Labels are usual in digital photograhy. I'm agree to add it. Mik, if you have few interesting screenshots from PhotoStation, let's me hear... Gilles Caulier Sorry, couldn't today lay a hand on comp with FotoStation so attaching only screenshot of relevant manual fragment: "Plate" in FS consists of two parts: Top - photo itself, Bottom - metadata. At the bottom of upper part is narrow clickable area, it is underscored by small arrow pointing down. It is small menu, after clicking it will show menu with colors (also shortcuts are displayed). With this additional menu it is possible to assign colors very quickly. Of course you can sort by colors or filter by colors. If you are interested in real life screenshots I will make them next week.
