You should provide more details on this, like how to reproduce. Log in as a root. Run Control Center -> Printer module -> Configure cups server. You will be ask to authenticate. You are asked for authentication, because the CUPS server asked for it. Being logged as root does not mean the CUPS server won't ask you for a password, it depends on CUPS configuration. For instance, can you do the same operations (without authentication) using the CUPS web interface at http://localhost:631? Ok, it asks so it is cups awkward issue, thank you. |
