Description Maciej Pilichowski 2006-12-29 20:37:53 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I run kcontrol as a user -> printer module -> start printer -> authentication dialog shows up.
I enter root and root password but this is not accepted.
Comment 1 Philip Rodrigues 2006-12-29 23:10:05 UTC
Does kdesu (the root password authorization dialog) work in any other kde applications?
Comment 2 Maciej Pilichowski 2006-12-29 23:18:13 UTC
Yes, it works fine. Btw. the printer dialog shows something similar, but it is not kdesu for sure.
Comment 3 Michael Goffioul 2007-01-03 11:02:55 UTC
Try the same in the CUPS web interface at http://localhost:631. Does it work?
Comment 4 Maciej Pilichowski 2007-01-03 12:10:53 UTC
No, it does not work.
Comment 5 Michael Goffioul 2007-01-03 12:21:14 UTC
Then your problem is a CUPS configuration problem. Try to look at CUPS documentation and your config file (/etc/cups/cupsd.conf).

Thanks, Michael!
