Description Ar 2006-12-17 22:33:16 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
OS: Linux

It would be really helpful to have an option in the Crop tool so that the crop box width-to-height ratio is kept constant at a predetermined value; typical ratios would be selectable (and possibly a custom ratio as well); this ratios would cover the typical printing ratios (and their inverses), for example:

  () 6/4 () 4/6
  () 10/8 () 8/10
  () 11/8.5 () 8.5/11
  () 19/13 () 13/19
  () Custom

Of course, in this mode the Crop box would be resizable, but the ratio is enforced.

This would be a great help when doing creative cropping for pics that need to be printed in a photo Lab, and when cropping different images that later on will have to be resized to fit equal image placeholder.

Thanks!

This wish is already implemented in the 'Aspect Ratio Crop'
digikamimageplugin.

Just found that the feature is already implemented.

I love digikam.
