Is Trillian SecureIM different from AIM SecureIM? I believe they are different, and there's a few projects/products called SecureIM out there. IIRC AOL's SecureIM protocol does cert-based authentication using private user certs, while Trillian's SecureIM protocol uses Diffie-Hellman keys and AES encryption. IIRC there's an opensource java implementation of Trillian's SecureIM in the joscar project (http://freshmeat.net/projects/joscar/) which may at least be useful for documenting the protocol. Thanks for the information. Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat. |
