Description johnelliottmartin 2006-12-09 01:24:47 UTC
Version: 1.9.5 (using KDE 3.5.5 "release 39" , openSUSE 10.2)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18.2-33-default

If a new message arrives and is put in a different folder than the current folder AND a search has been performed in the current folder using the search bar then pressing + to skip to the next unread message and jumping folders does not clear the search bar, so the message is displayed but the message list is not.
Comment 1 S. Burmeister 2006-12-09 08:37:33 UTC
Should it not be the way that if there is no new message in the list "+" should not display anything from that folder but jump to the next folder which has a new message as part of its list?

If "+" is supposed to show the next new message, even if not part of the message-list, I would second the request to show that message in the message-list, i.e. clear the quicksearch.

Yes, it should be that way. However, when a new message arrives in a different folder and + is pressed to jump to that folder, the search bar should be cleared.

This is just like if you have something in the search bar and you click on a different folder, the search bar gets cleared. It would make the behaviour of the search bar and changing folders consistant. As they are they are inconsistent. I don't have a preference either way, just a preference for consistency.

This bug is still present in 1.9.9 (enterprise 20080307.783247).

Works in kmail/KDE4.3
