This should only be an option.

After an email is sent from the outbox, place it in the folder that was selected (hi-lighted) when "New Message" was selected.

I feel this would facilitate the "store replies in this folder" option, which already exists.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
