Description Janet 2006-11-30 21:22:40 UTC
Version: 0.4.6 (using KDE 3.5.5, Debian Package 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-5 (4.0))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18-kanotix-1

Knemo offers the option to either use nettools or sys. The description for sys says that it "should reduce the CPU load and should not access the harddisc while gathering information". With nettools the load of kded is about 3%. Using sys kded load goes up to 50-75%. Either the description is wrong or something else.

Can confirm this for Sidux distribution.

Could someone with kernel 2.6.18 check if it still happens with KNemo 0.4.7? The sysbackend in 0.4.6 contains a bug that no sockets get closed, not sure if this causes the high CPU load but it's a possibility.

Fixed in KNemo 0.4.8

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I will be closing this bug.
