Ted, The Camera GUI have been very improved in 0.9.0 release. KDE deamon and digikam interface have been fixed. Can you try digikam 0.9.0-RC1 in your computer ? Gilles Caulier will try 0.9 as soon as Debian packages are out. Thanks Just upgraded to 0.9.0-beta3 from Debian unstable. Yes, it is much better and it should solve this bug. However, the imaging interface daemon does not work. It detects the new media, the "opening digikam" icon appears for a few moments which would seem to indicate digikam is opening, then an "examining new media" box appears indicating "examining system:/media/camera" then I get an "Error - KIOExec" box with the message "the file or folder / does not exist". On clearing the box, Digikam is not open. I don't know if the problem is in the daemon or in digikam. If I open digikam manually then select media browse, there is a delay of several seconds before the media list appears. Perhaps this delay is causing the problem? The media browse works well once it is open and correctly finds the camera images. Just checked...the daemon does open the camera in konqueror ("open in a new window") so it seems the problem may be with digikam. Now using KDE 3.5.7 and the daemon correctly opens digikam. Marking this bug as resolved. |
