I guess it's half wish half bug as I'm requesting a feature here, but I feel it's more like a bug because it's really something annoying.
Anyway, here's what I'm complaining about:

When you copy some text in the message window (not in the input field), the format of this text depends on the style you're currently using. Which is really annoying, because it breaks the formatting.
I'll just illustrate that with an example:

This actually is still one of the best styles regarding this behaviour, namely Hacker (variant "Light2-NoBack"). Other styles completely break this behaviour!

I would like kopete to implement it's own copy function for chat windows that copies text independently from the chat style with correct formatting. So that:

- mein ergebnis unterscheidet sich immer durch einen exponenten 
- die zahl an sich stimmt 
- aber ich geb bei r in m und so das richtige ein

becomes (in the clipboard):
19:38:00 - Michael Mutz: mein ergebnis unterscheidet sich immer durch einen exponenten 
19:39:00 - Michael Mutz: die zahl an sich stimmt 
19:39:00 - Michael Mutz: aber ich geb bei r in m und so das richtige ein

When implementing that you could maybe also improve the behaviour of selecting text, because it really takes some time and knowledge of tables to get behind it.
And you could close that bug regarding Ctrl+C not working. Wouldn't be too much of work then I guess *g*.
