Description Paul Kennedy 2006-11-14 02:50:39 UTC
Version: 0.12.3 (using KDE 3.5.5-0.7.el4.kde, CentOS release 4.4 (Final))
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.6 20060404 (Red Hat 3.4.6-3)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.9-22.0.2.EL

I'm attempting to create a new account that uses the meanwhile protocol. I select Settings->Configure->Accounts->New->(Wizard opens)->Meanwhile->Next. I get an error that "Cannot load the Meanwhile protocol plugin" and cannot procede further.

I can't tell if this is a bug, a config issue, or both.

Could you try the updated code at:

  http://ozlabs.org/~jk/projects/kopete-meanwhile/

And let me know if that fixes the issue?

This issue resolved itself when I downloaded pre-built rpms of kde-network
3.5.6 + kopete 0.12.4 from Rex Dieter's kde-redhat site. There's a good
chance I mucked things up with my own attempts to build from source.

I now eagerly await group chat.

Looks more like an upstream packaging problem.
