When I select a .nef image and select in Tools->Raw Conversion   is says ' conversion in progress' on the display, it bliks but nothing happens.
Whan I play around more, in help, I get the message:
Could not find service  kfmclient

ok, you talking about RAW Converter kipi-plugin. This bug have been fixed with current implementation of kipi-plugins from svn. Look file#128394

I am a relative newbie as for KDE.
Will Ubuntu automatically prompt me that there is a nwe plugin ?
Or do I have to use synaptic ?

no. The new plugins will be avaialble at next release date. About kipi-plugins, we have planed a first beta release at soon.

Not reproducible with digiKam 6.0.0 pre-release and libraw 0.19.
