I have got all the standard libraries like gccetc. installed. and have got Qt 2.1 beta libraries (all) and Qtx - backward compatibility libraries. Whenever i try to install(./configure) any Kde application(compatible with RH 6.x systems) I get the following message: 'checking for kde libraries installed... configure: error: your system > fails at linking a small KDE application! Check if your compiler is stalled correctly and if you have used the same compiler to compile Qt and kdelibs as you did use now' > I think the prob may be due to the reason i had installed 2 diff version of QT from 2 different distributions.I uninstalled the older QT & reinstalled Kde but still the bug persists. OK I summarize: you're installing on RH 6.2 RPMS from RH 7.0 use some beta Qt and wonder that older application don't compile with newer KDE versions. Is that right? These application won't compile with anything else than qt 1.4 and KDE 1.1.2 Greetings Stephan -- Frauen und Maenner passen vielleicht nicht zusammen aber meine allerschoensten Schrammen habe ich mir bei diesem Duell geholt. -- Reinhard Mey I will make the prob more clear- I got this problem whenever i installed kde 1.1.2qt 2.x betaqtx 1.4.x beta. All the standard s/w that comes with kde works perfectly but if i instally any new kde application i get that error. I agree they require qt 1.4 but why don't the apps use the qtx backward compatibility libraries. Isn't it the reason they are given? -Pramod.
