Same problem. Have upgraded from Ubuntu to Kubuntu. Selecting administrator mode in system settings accepts my password, flashes a screen I can't read, then returns to non-administrator mode. Serious since I cannot use Apache. That integration of the network settings dialog was developed by kubuntu.
