since i don't have many events in my calendar it would be convenient to be able to set default alarm settings
so i would get a default_minutes advance audio_default-text_whatever popup without having to set it for every single event

More than once, I've also found myself thinking it would be a nice feature to have the option to set the default event setting for 'Reminder'. Perhaps under the 'Time & Date' configure window have a check button along the lines of

[ ] Reminder on by default
