Description Stephan Sokolow 2006-11-03 00:27:08 UTC
Version: 1.2 (using KDE 3.5.2, Gentoo)
Compiler: Target: i686-pc-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.17-gentoo-r4-20060825

When a feed entry (like the current "gNewSense logo" entry in the FSF (Free Software Foundation) feed) points directly to a non-HTML/text file and "Load the full website when reading articles" is enabled, the contents will be interpreted as text and shown in the preview pane as gibberish.

In addition, when opening an entry in a new tab, regardless of whether it's a freshly-opened tab, or a link being clicked in an existing tab, it ignores the "use embedded (KPart) viewer" option and offers a save/open/cancel dialog.

Considering how irritating it is to pop up a GQView window in such situations (I HATE needing to open a new window), this is definitely a bug. It should, like Konqueror, switch to the Advanced Image Viewer KPart or whichever KPart is appropriate according to the KDE file associations system.

This was misfiled (and thus ignored) and is outdated now. Closing.
