I'm able to resize the settings window (not permanently). However, it's strange that you have such big windows. The default size of the KMail settings dialog looks small enough to fit on 1024x768 (and don't have problems with Konqueror either). > I'm able to resize the settings window (not permanently). Ah, sorry, I use to computers with differents settings -- my mistake. However, it is good you pointed that out. KMail should remember while it is still running the size of settings window and restore it. Not if I quite and run it again. So, minor wishlist but useful. Could you changes the status? Thank you. > However, it's strange that you have such big windows. The default size of > the KMail settings dialog looks small enough to fit on 1024x768 (and don't > have problems with Konqueror either). No, it looks both are ~760 in height. So with panel -- it covers the main buttons. But you could always have bigger font, bigger panel, and settings won't fit. I can resize the settings window to roughly 800x600 and it stays like this between openings of kmail in KDE 4.3 669 here. So it is still too much. Btw. part of the height is spent on useless subtitle, this issue was discussed on usability ML but it seems the approach is even worse, because somebody put effort even in animating this stuff. I also checked all tabs and sections, and none of them requires so much space. Only two of them are close, but there is still place to put one row of buttons (i.e. it means there is space that can be saved and make the dialog smaller). *** Bug 180174 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented. Thank you for your understanding. In KDE SC 4.8 with Russian localization, I can resize the KMail configuration dialog to 883x620. I hope, this is enough. Created attachment 73269 [details]

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2. (In reply to comment #7) > In KDE SC 4.8 with Russian localization, I can resize the KMail > configuration dialog to 883x620. I hope, this is enough. That said, I assume this bug to be fixed in kmail2. |
