Sentry Crash Report:

Description Scott Couston 2006-10-26 05:42:04 UTC
Version: 3.5.1 (using KDE 3.5.1 Level "a" , SUSE 10.1)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.21-0.25-smp

I copied my home directory to an NFS drive before a risky procedure and when I attempted to copy back the files some of the header of the file was not intact.

Without verification being a default option the usefullness of coping files is, because of its size and often remote location is ALWAYS questionable.

Please include this mandatory verify in Konqueror - despite the integrity of the O/S file system this is not an option and IS desperately required.

If there is a global system file verify option appart from file system standar checks please advise

Accessing NFS mounted folders is handled in the same way as local file access as far as KIO is concerned; that is, by the 'file' ioslave. The NFS ioslave in kio-extras provides access to remote NFS servers (without the need for mounting) via URLs starting "nfs://host/". Reassigning to frameworks-kio/general.
