Description Krzysztof Dubowik 2006-10-25 19:26:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package
OS: Linux

When kmail is in offline mode and I read a message that requests a message disposition notification (MDN) then kmail displays the following error message instead just storing the MDN in the outbox:

sending MDN in offline mode displays an error (smtp server unreachable)
Sending failed:
Unknown host mgw
The message will stay in the 'outbox' folder until you either fix the problem (e.g. a broken address) or remove the message from the 'outbox' folder.
The following transport protocol was used: mgw
Do you want me to continue sending the remaining messages?

I use disconnected IMAP for reading the messages and SMTP for sending.

Is this still a problem in KDE 4.3?

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
