hi,
I'm using Fedora Core 5 with the kde-redhat repo and their kde 3.5.5.
The problem was not in kde 3.5.4:

I have a vncsession with kde. When reconnecting to this session the screensaver does not end/crashes.
Here is how to reproduce.
Disconnect from the session, let the screensaver kick in (blank screen 
here with 5min, no pw) and reconnect.

The screen stays black and does not respond.

As I said the prblem was not in 3.5.4.

I can confirm this using vnc-4.1.2+kde-3.5.5 on rhel4.

I can confirm this using vnc4server-4.1.1+xorg1.0.2-0ubuntu1 and kde-3.5.5 on kubuntu6.10 as the vnc server and FC6 (kde3.5.5) as client.

This sounds like it might be related to bug #134765
