Version:           1.4.5_relight (using KDE 3.5.5, Debian Package 4:3.5.5a-1 (testing/unstable))

On the middle of the right and of the bottom of the image, one finds two buttons that allow cropping the image. It would be desirable to have equivalent buttons on the top and the left of the image to avoid the necessity of turning the image by 180 degree in order to crop it from the original top and left side.

Good idea.  KolourPaint certainly needs better cropping mechanisms.  The sole 
grip at the bottom-right of the view is certainly inconvenient.  I will fix 
this but in the meantime, you can either:

1. Select an area to keep using the "Selection (Rectangular)" tool.  Then, use 
"Selection / Set as Image (Crop)".

OR

2. Try "Image / Autocrop" which automatically detects and deletes borders.  If 
you double click on the 3D "Color similarity" cube in the bottom-right of the 
program window and drag the "RGB Color Cube Distance" slider, you can 
increase the "fuzziness" of the border detection, if your borders are not 
made entirely of one colour.  I think this is called a "Magic Wand" or "Magic 
Selection" in other image editors.  I admit the GUI for this is terrible and 
will need to be fixed.

It would be nice to have the possibility to change the extent of the selection after drawing the canvas. Meanwhile one can only resize / scale the selection as a whole.

Only a suggestion / whish. Nevertheless it's a great app I can't live without.
