Description Stephan Sokolow 2006-10-22 03:24:04 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

I haven't used Okular, but from the screenshots, it seems to have the same level of bookmarking support as KPDF. That is, practically none.

I didn't even know it had bookmarking support until I asked for it, was told it existed, and finally found it in the context menu.

I suggest adding a bookmarks tab to the sidebar, similar to how Adobe Reader does it. Not only would it be an easily visible yet unobtrusive way to navigate them, it would also keep the interface familiar to people migrating to KDE 4 from Windows or MacOS X.

I did some work on that today, so if you can, please update and give your feedback. Thanks!

It'll have to wait until new years day. I've got a real crush of coursework due by midnight on the 31st and I procrastinated it too long.

Thankfully, once that's done, I do have a an account set up with a KDE 4.x SVN testing setup, so it shouldn't take me too long to set up oKular.

Going to close this wish as implemented, now okular has:
- page bookmarks (like in KPDF)
- actions Go to Prev/Next Bookmarks
- sidebar with bookmarks, with possibility to toggle between all documents/current document bookmarks
- clicking on an item in the sidebar will bring to that bookmark, loading the document if it's not the current one
- Bookmarks menu with Add/Remove bookmarks, and the list of the bookmarks for the current document

In case I missed something, please open new wishes.
