Description Didier Hoarau 2006-10-15 20:03:13 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I have a problem with some Web pages:
( for exemple: http://digg.com/register )

After the page is displayed, the whole KDE interface become very very slow: the web page itself is slow (when I scroll or when I modify the fields), desktop switching or tab switching is very slow. In sort: KDE is not responsive at all when the page is displayed.

But when I finally change tab or desktop (ie: when the page is hidden) the problem disapears.

I use KUbuntu Edgy.

Can confirm with 3.5.5 from debian.
Opening that page does make konq quite sluggish.

Confirming with 3.5.5 on Gentoo. The whole new Digg's interface renders damn slow in Konqueror.

It's caused by fixed elements. They scrolled really slow in konqueror and safari btw.

I dont know if this is the same bug, but yes, since the last update of digg, the page renders very slowly when scrolling

Browsing digg.com with Konqueror looks like watching dvd on pentium 100MHz. I think this is problem with current javascript implementation in KHTML and similar to these bugs:
