Version:           1.4.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from:    Fedora RPMs
Compiler:          gcc-4.1.1

When I sort my playlist by title, all the song names are sorted. If I subsequently sort by artist, the song names corresponding to a given artist are not sorted anymore. It would be the case if the sort were stable.
