Description Frans Englich 2006-10-10 23:03:22 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

If I select a contact(info view shows up in in the right frame) and:

1. selects text in it, such as the email
2. Copy it(Ctrl+C)
3. Paste it somewhere

I get the full vCard output, not the text I selected.

This is inconsistent with how copy&pasting usually work(it is direct manipulation/WYSIWYG), and not what the user intended.

I understand it can be interesting to insert the vCard as a whole into the clipboard, so I suggest that a text entry is inserted /if/ the user has /selected/ text.

I can confirm this in Kontact 1.2.9 on KDE 3.5.9 on Kubuntu 8.04. Copying text via keyboard shortcut from the side pane and pasting into another application pastes the raw vcard data.

The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4.
Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
