Version: 1.9.4 (using KDE 3.5.4, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.6 [FreeBSD] 20060305
OS: FreeBSD (i386) release 6.2-PRERELEASE

Trying to set a custom sent-mail folder in the advanced identity dialog here. The setting takes, but sent mail just vanishes rather than being stored in the specified folder.

Other custom folders such as drafts and trash work as expected.

One work around for this is to specify the sent-mail folder from the compose window, which does work as expected. This work around doesn't work too well when a user wishes to specify multiple sent-mail folders that are identity specific.

This problem has been around for a while, which has kept me using Thunderbird for the time being. Just thought I'd have a look at 3.5.4 to see if it's been resolved, and obviously it hasn't.

Do the sent mails really vanish or are they just placed in the wrong folder, like in bug 126687?
