Version:           0.12.2 (using KDE 3.5.4, Kubuntu (edgy) 4:3.5.4-0ubuntu18)
Compiler:          Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.17-7-generic

in the chat windows menu - format - i'm unable to change the background color.
The option is greyed out and i'm left with a dark background color i must have configured in a previous version.
whereas i was able to change the font color, the background color remains the same.
i tried compiling kopete from source, but it didn't help.

This feature is not present in KDE 4.1 Beta 2 (Kopete 0.50.80)

I can confirm this with KDE-4.2 Beta1. In chat windows, the option Format->Set background color is there (not greyed out), but clicking on it does nothing except close the Format menu.

Still confirmed in Kopete Version 0.70.2 Using kde-4.2.3, although the option is not grayed out, clicking it is completely ignored.

Setting a background color in the Chat Window Color configurations is ignored.

Works in KDE 4.4, though some Kopete styles have the backgrund color hardcoded... Clean style works.
