I come across this bug in Mandriva 2006 (containing KDE 3.4.2 and Konqueror 3.4.2) and Knoppix 5.0.1 (containing KDE 3.5.2 and Konqueror 3.5.2).

* In a Windows machine I've got a 4.7GB file (5 181 079 874 bytes, to be exact).
  The system is Windows 2003, the partition is in NTFS and the directory is shared.

* I open Konqueror (ie Home window) and typed the following address:
   smb://domain\username@server/share/
   and get the content displayed.
   
* At this stage, Konqueror displays the file size CORRECTLY if I look at the file's property.

* I then copy 'n paste this big file to another directory of the same SMB share using Konqueror.  (The windows disk has more than enough space to hold the new file, of course.)

* At first, Konqueror's "copy dialog window" displays things correctly too.
   The "XX.XMB of 4.7GB complete" message is correct.
   
* Later on, at 2GB, the message dialog goes completely wrong!!  From now on, it shows
   "16,777,216 TB of 16,777,216 TB complete"!!!
   And the percentage bar is of course shown as 100%.
   
* However, the copy in background just goes on.  If we're patient enough, the copy will eventually finish and you'll get the correct size.

So, the problem is just in the graphical interface. SMB copy in the background has no 2GB limit.
