(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kmail
Version: KDE 2.0 Final
Severity: normal

It seems to me that kmail uses the wrong envelope sender address when sending mail via SMTP. I have two identities (k.reimer@twisd.de and k@ailis.de) but kmail uses the email address specified in the default identity instead of the email address of the selected identity.

This is a little bit disturbing. I have set my default identity to the same email address as my business identity. If I now write a message with my private identity to an unknown address the bounce is not received via my private mail account but via my business mail account.

Hi

Well... Looks like that's not a bug... Because kmail has only one global=20
sending method instead of one method for each identity kmail uses the defau=
lt=20
identity for envelope address. I think that's correct. Not nice but correct.

So please close this bug without further notice.

Hi

It would be probably nice if KMail would use the right address. Anyway I c=
lose
this report since it is a dublicate of an already reported wishlist item.

I think you need to change the STMP server used to send mail. Choose
"View->mail transport". You can use filters to automatically set the identity
and smtp server used when replying to mails.
