Whether a bug or not, I'm not educated enough to say. First, permit me to give to you the scenario:

Windows (which the rest of the family uses) corrupted it's boot sector, and I'm loath to take the time to fix it yet again. I'm educating my wife in Linux so that she has the most important on-line functions available. 

The "switch users" function is great (for the most part). However, when it comes to Kmail, there is a bit of a problem.

The first time we did this "switch user" routine, kmail crashed on my side. Later the following day, when I went to check the email (after switching users), there was an intolerable time delay. Actually, the system was not integrating wallet, kmail, etc all into one nice little package as it was when this box was a single-user machine.

The first time, kmail crashed. The second and third times, kmail didn't respond when clicking on "check emails" (though I have it set up to check every minute). Once, kmail did check incoming, and it appeared when I changed users. The next few times, I had to play around to totally close kmail in order to restart the process.

So, more a wish list than a bug report.

1) I'd like to see kmail respond in a more appropriate fashion to a change in user. I.E. Don't leave the user guessing as to how to fix the problem and get kmail to work. Send an appropriate error message. More so, allow kmail to recognize changes in users and still to function like most of the other Gentoo system.

2) If I click on the "X" - please close kmail directly - don't make me go to the system tray to finish the closing. This only adds to the confusion.

Some Window$ programs behave in the manner as does kmail in this regard, and they are normally the more annoying applications. 

Given the lack of pop-up error messages, this might make things a bit easier for someone to restart kmail and overcome the obstacles as I did. (In other words, the less obstacles to restarting an application, the better - don't make the same mistakes as M$ based applications.)

So, those are my two "wish-list" items regarding kmail.

I haven't retested the latest version of Konqueror for accepting special HTML characters, but, it would also be nice if Konqueror were a bit more conversant with these W3C standards as is even M$ IE (tis sad when a Linux application can't do special characters but even M$ IE which is totally non-W3C-compliant can.)
