Description Patrick Trettenbrein 2006-09-10 12:42:10 UTC
Version: 0.12.2 (using KDE 3.5.4 Level "a" , unofficial build of SUSE )
Compiler: Target: x86_64-suse-linux
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.13-8-default

There's an big usability issue in Kopete's msn chat "formatting -> font" menu. I'm not sure if this also apperars in icq chat. Anyway when I have an MSN-chat-window openened in Kopete there is a menu entry called "formatting" (pelase note that I'm using German localization, so the menu entries' titles are translated and may be not the same as in the original English localization). This "formatting" menu has an submenu called "font". When you move your mouse on this submenu another one opens up which doesn't provide the possiblity to select every installed font due to the fact that the monitor runs out of space. This menu is a huge usability issue. It is totally un-usable! Please see the attached screenshot for details of what I'm talking about.

I'm not an usability expert, but such menus are a shame for KDE, aren't they?

The font dialog in KDE 4.1 seems much better.

Kopete in KDE4 uses a normal font-setting dialog, marking as fixed.
