Version:           0.12.2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)

Not sure if this is possible for kopete, but in Gajim there is only a one line text-field below the chat. However, if one writes more than one line it automatically expands to two lines etc. until a maximum of 10 lines or something in that range.

This is nice because it does not waste any space but at the same time allows to see the whole text if it is longer than one line.

please don't add "wish:" to the summary of the bug report. We already have ways to tell if a bug is a wish or a bug. Thanks. :)

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
