are you using the themed full-screen greeter or the regular dialog window greeter? can you describe the themed full-screen greeter in comparison to the regular dialog window greeter? i also changed the Appearance of the greeter from Login Manager and set the clock to display at the username and login start up screen resulting in no change on start up. the regular greeter is a normal qt/kde dialog with a "raised" frame effect, with all input fields, buttons, possibly a user list and possibly a console log, simply on top of a background. the themed greeter is full-screen, and - as it is themed - nothing more can be definitely said about it. however, usually themes blend the controls into the background, are very colorful and often look somewhat flat for the lack of 3d-effects. the regular themed greeter is currently being displayed with the username and login prompt on a blue screen with white text. the Suse logo is diplayed in white on the upper right side above the right justified login and username prompt. regular themed ... perfect answer. ;) anyway, the fact that "enable background" was not set before and you *still* had a background is a very strong indicator that you are using a themed greeter. unfortunately, it is not configurable short of altering the theme (or just getting another one). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 118733 *** |
