Does it work with a newly created user? That is a very good suggestion and I immediately tried it. Unfortunately even with a new user it still doesnt work. Are you still seeing this problem in 3.5.6? I have upgraded to edgy and using 3.5.5 I have no problem. I am running KMail 1.9.6 (KDE 3.5.6) and I am experiencing the same problem. I deleted the kmail settings under ~/.kde and re-setup KMail and still the SMTP process dies whenever it tries to send e-mail. I can see an initial connection to the mail server at the time of the process crashing. I am running this on an OpenBSD 4.1 -current system which comes with gcc 3.3.5. Reassigning the bugs of the SMTP, IMAP and POP ioslaves to kdepim-bugs. Undo autoconfirm. Please report if this is still a problem in KDE 4.3 |
