The interface for PIN helpers changed with bluez 3.x, and broke kbluepin.  See these debian bugs:

kdebluetooth 1.0-beta3 got rewritten to make use of the BlueZ D-Bus API.
kbluetooth (trayicon application) acts as (Default) Passkey Agent.
