Description jg 2006-09-03 03:22:45 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages
OS:                Linux

KDE system Settings is very handy, thanks for creating it!

I am unable to get my USB HP930c added to CUPS via KDE. Previously it worked, find, I just insalled Kubuntu 6.06 and now it is not possible to add the USB printer.

I get this unclear error message when I select the driver recommended for HP 930c

=================
Unable to load the requested driver:
Unable to create the Foomatic driver [HP-DeskJet_930C,cdj550.upp]. Either that driver does not exist, or you don't have the required permissions to perform that operation.
=================

I tried the other drivers and they have the same error. The problem is it is not clear exactly what the error is, that message seems to be a catch all. Could it be revised to state specifically what the problem was please?

Thanks again for making KDE great!

Kind regards
Jon

The error message is quite clear: you need to install foomatic drivers or, your user doesn't have the right permissions to configure the printer.

I'm closing this bug as not valid.

If you need more help, please ask.
