Description Stephen Leaf 2006-08-30 01:51:26 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

Open up a CD using system:/ drag and drop a file anywhere (such as your home dir) the option "Move" is displayed however when chosen it then reports that it cannot delete the file off the system:/...
Why? it never had write access to begin with, thus the option should not be displayed just as it is not when using file:/

I've also confirmed that this happens with media:/ also.

system:/ and media:/ are gone in kde4, but the same problem happens with ftp:/. The "read only parent directory" case is only detected by libkonq's KonqOperations when dragging local files, not for remote files. Can be fixed by extending KonqMimeData -- but I guess that the fact that it only happens with real remote protocols now lessens the priority of this bug.
