Description Jeff Eklund 2006-08-24 13:33:35 UTC
Version: 2.10.0 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

It would be very cool if Noatun could support module music files, like -mod, .it, .xm and such file formats. Another player, for KDE, doing this exist, it's called KmodBox (http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Haven/3864/mainframes.html), but it's old and unmaintained. KmodBox uses Mikmod (http://mikmod.raphnet.net/) to play the files. Another, also old and unmaintained project is Mod4Kde (http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Mod4Xwin/).

Some other players can be found here: http://sound.condorow.net/mod.html which perhaps could provide code ideas or something like that.

What I would want Noatun to be able to do, is to treat theese mod iles as any other sound file, showing artist, names, lengths and comments (file comments are important for tracked music) ad of course playing them back properly.

A good sites for .mod-files for testing is: http://www.modarchive.com
