In Opera a middle-click on a tab closes it. The same behaviour can be enabled for konqueror. Kind of the same way, one could enable middle-click in kopete to close/start the connection to an account without the need to set any away-message, i.e. set it to "".

Middle-click on the account-icon could go offline if online and go online if online. Quick and easy.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
