Description Nick Warne 2006-08-06 00:33:27 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from:    Compiled From Sources
Compiler:          GCC 3.4.6 -march=athlon-tbird
OS:                Linux

Slackware 10 base install (heavily updated from source code in all areas) - CUPS 1.2.2

If I print a test page to my Samsung ML-1610 via CUPS 1.2.2 web interface:631 I get a 'Printed Using CUPS v1.2.x' test page, complete with new grade ramp etc.

If I print a test page via KDE periphals->Printers->Test Printer I get an old 'Printed Using CUPS v1.1.x' test page...

I built KDE 3.5.4 the last two days _after_ new CUPS v1.2.2 was installed.

Confirming the annoyance on gentoo using KDE 3.5.5
Comment 2 Kurt Pfeifle 2007-01-08 17:36:15 UTC
As a workaround, for now please use the following:

* shortcut [alt]+[f2]
* run "kaddprinterwizard --kdeconfig"
* on "General" page, enable "Specify personal test page"
* enter path to CUPS' test page (usually "/usr/share/cups/data/testprint.ps")

Dunno if this can be fixed in KDE 3.5.x lifetime. (Too late for the upcoming 3.5.6 release).

KDEPrint is obsolete, unmaintained and will never be revived. Closing all open bugs.
