Description Fathi Boudra 2006-08-02 11:12:24 UTC
Version: 0.7-beta1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

This is a forwarded bug :
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=376668

During big transfers the program craches with a signal 11 (SIGSEGV) giving the following traceback:

0xb6dbc5de in QPaintDevice::x11AppDisplay () from /usr/lib/libqt-mt.so.3
#0  0xb6dbc5de in QPaintDevice::x11AppDisplay () from /usr/lib/libqt-mt.so.3

#6 0xbf907bb4 in ?? ()
#7 0x0822f148 in ?? ()
#8 0x00000000 in ?? ()

It was about 6000 files over the internet (DSL connection). Mainly small
gifs and a few hundred php/ html. Generally small filesizes (0.5 - 1K).
It crached when trying to do it all in one go. I did several tries and
it crached on different points.
Doing small chunks, 500 to 1000 files at the time went OK.

cheers,

Fathi

Can you try the latest SVN version and report if this problem persists ?
Comment 2 Johan Naranjo 2006-10-30 18:57:09 UTC
Having the same issue here, i've installed kftpgrabber 0.7.0.1-beta1 from ubuntu repositories and get the signal 11 SIGSEGV while trying to transfer like 3.2 MB in files.

I get this from the crash message:

Comment 3 Jernej Kos 2006-10-30 20:51:17 UTC
Please try the latest SVN revision, since version 0.7 is quite obsolete.
Comment 4 Johan Naranjo 2006-10-31 05:27:40 UTC
I have that version because is the one in kubuntu repos, im trying now version 0.8 beta.
Comment 5 Jernej Kos 2006-10-31 10:55:03 UTC
I still recommend you to try the latest SVN revision (http://www.kftp.org/misc/svn), since it has many fixes that are not in beta1.
Comment 6 Jernej Kos 2007-04-05 22:53:53 UTC
Does this problem still ocurr with the latest SVN revision ? I haven't been able to reproduce it.
Comment 7 brazzmonkey 2007-05-06 00:31:03 UTC
problem still occurs on 0.8 (using kde 3.5.6 on kubuntu feisty).
Comment 8 Felipe Alvarez 2007-06-26 07:21:00 UTC
Problem occurs in 0.8.1 with opensuse 10.2. I am uploaded MAMBO SERVER (mamboserver.com) to FTP site at www.awardspace.com. Crash happens at about 99% progress. Backtrace below.

sorry to post the backtrace to the screen and bloat the page :(
Comment 10 Christoph Feck 2011-12-20 02:58:08 UTC
This crash report is at least 4 years old and there were no further comments or status updates since then.

Therefore we believe that this crash is already fixed in KDE 4 or the backtrace is no longer applicable to KDE 4.

If the crash still happens with a recent KDE version (4.7.4 or 4.8), please add an updated backtrace or provide steps to reproduce. For more information, see http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports

(To prevent automatic closing of this bug in the future, please set the bug status to ASSIGNED or NEW)
