delete expired articles is also run every hour, so it should also work if you have Akregator running for a long time. I think there should be better feedback when changing the expiry settings - right now there is no noticable effect right after changing. Akregator could delete them right after changing the setting - but that has the drawback that the user can't undo his setting if he changes his mind/took the wrong setting. Another option: Akregator could ask "You changed the expiry setting. Do you want to purge expired articles now?". Well, such a dialog can become annoying quickly. Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists.
