This is the only feature I've found noticeably missing from the desktop environment as a whole. Put this in and I'll never ask for anything again :-) Seriously though I'd think some kind of generalizable mechanism for binding modifier-wheel-up and modifier-wheel-down would be very powerful for the power-user. Rather than just hacking it into konqueror perhaps control-wheel-up/down for up and down the alphabet by first letter of name and alt-wheel-up/down to switch categories in kaddress could be valuable; similarly for being able to bind switching desktops (a la enlightenment) to the wheel would be handy as well as an extremely powerful customization option. Perhaps just considering wheel-up and wheel-down as two 'keys' and allowing them to be bound via key bindings would plug nicely into the existing configuration framework; but I'll leave the design decisions to you folks. While this feature in konqueror is nice I'm perfectly willing to wait for a more generalizable binding mechanism for the wheel if feasible in the foreseeable future. Thanks for making everything else perfect and getting better :-) Krishna Sethuraman krishnoid@ebates.com Apparently, I lied about never asking for anything else again (based on the other bugs I've since voted for). But I do think this would be handy. Replaced donut@azstarnet.com with null@kde.org due to bounces by reporter is this stil valid wish for konq 4.2.4? |
